Relics

Some details in this guide are based on community knowledge and may not reflect the latest game updates. Currency values and event point amounts may vary by server or season.

Relics are equippable items that provide stat bonuses to your heroes and army. The relic system has its own economy — relic shards, magic stones, arcane crystals, and tavern summons — and knowing when to spend versus when to save dramatically affects both your relic progression and your event performance.

Relics are obtained primarily through the Tavern summon system and by combining relic shards. Each relic equips into a slot on a hero or army formation and provides passive bonuses to stats like attack, defence, speed, or faction-specific multipliers.

Relics come in multiple rarity tiers:

  • Lower-rarity relics are common and inexpensive to obtain
  • Higher-rarity relics provide substantially stronger bonuses and are the long-term goal
  • Relic sets or themed combinations can provide additional bonus effects when multiple pieces are equipped together

The relic economy uses four main resources:

CurrencyPrimary Use
Relic Shards (3 rarities)Combine into relics or exchange for tavern summons
Magic StonesCrafting material consumed in large batches
Arcane CrystalsPremium crafting material; individually high-value
Tavern SummonsDirect relic acquisition from the Tavern

Relics are summoned directly at the Tavern using in-game currencies. Two summon types are available with different rarity probability distributions:

  • Standard summon — higher probability of lower-rarity relics; lower cost
  • Premium summon — better odds at high-rarity relics; higher cost

Saving premium summons for when you have enough for multiple pulls in a single session reduces variance and is typically better than single-pull patterns.

Relic spending earns substantial Guild Arms Race (GAR) points during Stages 1 and 2 (Territory Revival and Tech Boost). The same relic materials you would spend for progression also earn event points when consumed during these stages.

ActionGAR Points
Consume 1 Relic Shard (common rarity)200
Consume 1 Relic Shard (uncommon rarity)1,000
Consume 1 Relic Shard (rare rarity)5,000
Consume 2,000 Magic Stones600
Consume 1 Arcane Crystal1,200
Standard Tavern summon1,500
Premium Tavern summon3,200

The most important relic rule: Do not consume relic materials outside of active GAR windows. Saving shards, magic stones, and arcane crystals for Stages 1 and 2 earns you the same relic progression you would have made anyway, but adds thousands of event points on top.

Consuming a rare relic shard during Stage 1 or 2 earns 5,000 GAR points. The same consumption outside of GAR earns zero. The progression benefit is identical in both cases.

Magic Stones are obtained through daily activities, events, and dismantling relics you no longer need. They are consumed in batches of 2,000 for crafting or enhancement.

  • Accumulate Magic Stones in batches of 2,000 before consuming — each batch scores 600 GAR points when spent during Stage 1 or 2
  • Do not spend partial batches casually; hold until you have full batches and an active GAR window

Arcane Crystals are rarer and more valuable than Magic Stones. Each one represents 1,200 GAR points when consumed during the right event stage.

  • Treat Arcane Crystals as premium assets — never consume them outside of GAR
  • When you have Arcane Crystals ready, align their consumption with Stage 1 or 2 for the full point yield

For PvP-focused accounts:

  1. Target high-rarity relics that amplify your primary attack heroes
  2. Upgrade relics consistently — even small tier increases add meaningful stat gains
  3. Concentrate your best relics on the heroes in your active combat lineup; spreading them thin reduces impact

For PvE and boss content:

  • Relics with faction-specific bonuses outperform generic stat relics against faction-weak enemies
  • Match relic stat focus to the specific PvE content you run most often

Relic materials are among the most event-efficient items in Top Heroes. Your relic progression and your GAR performance are not in competition — they reinforce each other when you time your consumption correctly. See the Guild Arms Race guide for the full event stage breakdown.
